H&M Fall 2010

Its not even summer and H&M shows us the first fall pieces. I fell in love with the fur-lether jacket right away. The only thing what I dont like about the H&M lookbook is, that the stuff you get to see, you never find online or in stores (maybe in very "special" stores but not where I live).
Anyway, take a look and judge.

London Fashion Week - I Report For Xtaster From The Front Row, Pt 2
It’s been a rainy week; rain, rain, rain – all day. But the magnificent designers at London Fashion Week gave us more than enough reason to get up and go out.
Estimates say that more than 5000 visitors from all over the world came to see the London fashion circus. Visitors including buyers, journalists, photographers and TV and radio crews flocked to see the innovative designs for A/W10.
Erdem, who has now joined the rank of fashion’s superstars, showed they are not just about beautiful dresses anymore. Roksana Ilincic took colour to another level. Christopher Kane showed that next autumn/winter is all about tailoring, and decorating plain pieces to make them stick out.

Christopher Kane
We marvelled at pinafore dresses by Marios Schwab and watched Madame Kirchhoff’s designs, which changed the whole mood of the show.
Jaeger London and Burberry Prorsum focused on outerwear. Jaeger in the form of traditional fabrics such as camel hair and sheepskin leather, and Burberry presented a lot of military-style coats. Burburry also managed to bring Hollywood to the front row with stars like Kate Hudson, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Vogue's Anna Wintour turning out to see Christopher Bailey’s creations.
Designers were also exploring a new way of showing their work - via elaborate films like the one from Hussein Chalayan and outstanding acting presentations from Christian Blankens.
Overall we saw a lot of hard-edged, dark-hued and leather clothes. Texture, printed, one-shoulder dresses seem to be the next big thing. The paper-bag waist will be back; also aviator jackets and velvet fabrics will soon dominate styles on the street.
While London Fashion Week has now come to a close, it will return in all its splendour in September, so stay tuned for more then.

London Fashion Week - Xtaster Reports From The Front Row
Wow - what a weekend!-. London Fashion Week has proved again that there is a good reason why the fashion world makes the pilgrimage to Somerset House each year.
First Steps
First Naomi Campbell and stars like Kate Moss and Geri Halliwell rocked the catwalk for the Fashion For Relief show – and raised a lot of money to help the earthquake victims from Haiti.
London Fashion Week opened on the 19th February with a minute of silence in memory of Alexander McQueen. Sarah Brown welcomed all the visitors at a little ceremony. Not only for her is Fashion Week creative, innovative and trendsetting, this year Fashion Week is even more. It’s a digital switchover.
Most designers and visitors are using the multimedia to get out there. Nearly all shows are livestreamed; Twitter means the entire world knows what the front row thinks about the latest pieces and with the new Blackberry applications people can order the seen creations right away.
Catwalk Trends
Paul Costelloe was the first to show his collection AW10, followed by inspiring Hannah Marshall. Sass & Bide brought the first day to a clost with a host of beautiful pieces.
As expected, Vivienne Westwood and Matthew Williamson shows were a hit and got a lot of positive feedback. The presentations from Twenty8Twelve and Mulberry gave an indication of just what the next 'it' pieces and must haves will be.
Trends for AW10 spotted so far:
- Bold shoulders and deep V-neck lines:
Julien Mcdonald
- Metallic applications on all kinds of textiles:
Louise Goldin
- Extreme structure and detailed waistlines for dresses:
Party, Party, Party
One party after the other - one better than the last: there were the Lancome and Harper’s Bazaar BAFTA Party, Mulberry Aftershow Party, Roisin Murphy for Linda Farrow Party, British Council Award Ceremony, PPQ Party with Peaches Geldof, John Rocha's 25 Years event and Felder Felder / My Beautiful City Party - and there are still plenty more to come.
Plus there's still three more days ahead of unique, extraordinary and inventive creations and events - and Xtaster will be there to keep you posted.
